Complex Range – Deployable Austere Shoot House (DASH)
Project Overview
Proxenus played a critical role in helping the Australian Army raise its urban combat training capability through the design and delivery of the Deployable Austere Shoot House (DASH) – the Army’s first certified Complex Technology Range.

- Designed and delivered a safe, low-cost, low-maintenance prototype

- Implemented Continuing Landworthiness systems for ongoing safety
Accreditations & Capability
- Proxenus engineers are CPEng certified – vital for defence compliance
- Access to VicPol-accredited firing range fast-tracked in-house testing and evaluation to support the design and delivery
- Certification process developed by Proxenus is now an Army exemplar for other ranges
Outcome
The first DASH was trialled in March 2023 at Greenbank, Brisbane, and certified in August 2023. The project’s success enabled a national rollout of similar complex ranges.
