Combat Shooting Realism – Integrated Land Targetry System (ILTS)
Project Overview
Proxenus was selected to lead the Australian Army’s Integrated Land Targetry System (ILTS) Program – Project BARMINI – aimed at overhauling combat shooting realism for both Infantry and Armoured Corps. The program delivered cutting-edge targetry systems and transitioned ILTS into a formalised CASG-managed capability.

- Managed the full delivery of Infantry and Armoured target systems
- Developed enhanced realism using combat imagery and decals
- Tested and certified a suite of static and moving targetry systems
- Led transition planning into a permanent Defence program structure
- Evaluated and matured new technologies to meet Defence TRL benchmarks
Key Achievements
- Delivered multiple Corflute™ Series targets (Figure 9, 11, 12)
- Developed and certified reduced-range steel targets and sniper plates
- Introduced and validated robotic targets – Marathon (Infantry) and RAIDER (Armoured)
- Aligned RAIDER system with ADF operational, safety, and mobility standards
- Supported integration into Marksmanship Training Ranges nationwide
- Enabled first use of mobile moving targets in live-fire training across Army

- Proxenus engineers are CPEng certified – essential for testing and certification
- Access to VicPol-accredited firing range supported in-house validation
- Proxenus provided Technology Readiness Level (TRL) uplift and certification expertise
- Target systems delivered by Proxenus remain in active national service
Outcome
The ILTS program modernised Army’s targetry landscape. Proxenus enabled the rollout of a comprehensive and certified system still in use across Australia’s Defence Training Areas. The success of ILTS positioned Proxenus as a national leader in live-fire realism and combat readiness support.
